Personality;; Carter is a no-nonsense individual. She’s highly intelligent and takes her job seriously. The fact that she’s been allowed to stay in Lux’arumque, when no other wolf from outside the spectrum has, has made her fiercely dedicated to her job as betess. She’s aware of the controversy her presence has caused, but her loyalty and trust is with the alphas, and since they’d asked her to stay, she will, unless she’s asked to leave by the new alphess, or she herself determines its not worth it anymore. Her personality is very business-like, and she doesn’t have a very high tolerance for those that annoy her. Nonetheless, she is a hard-worker, and a loyal confidante. Her personality does have a payful, joking side, though it is often only revealed to long-time friends.
Appearance;; Carter is a large female, built solidly for tasks requiring strength. Her coat is think and full, and her head is square. Her form is not bulky, simply strong. Her pelt is a soft, even grey, bearing the regular patterns of a timber wolf. As a cub it held silver, but as she has grown it has faded to grey, calling her place in the pact into question for many. Apart from her size, little is notable about this wolf, until one looks into her eyes. They are a deep, vivid hue, somewhere between plum and violet. They seem to swirl occasionally, or change in intensity, sometimes appearing almost like amethyst as they glitter and throw light.
Abilities?;; Carter is avery weak hypnotist and reader, and ability that aids her in battle, as well as when telling stories. Basically, she can influence others, but not outright control them. Nor can she “read” them if they don’t wish her to. Her knowledge of history and legends is very keen, leading some to think her ability extends outside living beings and into the landscape around them, enabling her to read the history of their lands through the lands through objects and places.
History;; Carter was born to the previous alphas of Lux'arumque during the fury of a blizzard that surprised even the seasoned pack members of the Northern Tribe. At birth, her pelt seemed to hold shadings of silver. As one of only two pups in the litter to hold the pack's spectrum, she and her brother Teller were celebrated.
As Carter grew, her abilities began to shine, and her pelt began to fade. Silver turned slowly to simple grey, even as she proved herself as a capable fighter, intelligent wolf, and talented shaman to the Lux'arumque pack. They held out hope her pelt would remain silver as she grew up. Traditionally, pups had always been sent away at six months of age. Carter held silver in her pelt until she was two - rather than sending an adult wolf away from her pack, her parents, the alphas made the surprising decision to allow her to stay, appointing her the rank of Betess.
Since then her parents have died, old wolves, and Lux had fallen under new leadership in the form of the alphess Acumen. Carter's future is called into question by some, but her dedication to her pack has not wavered.
