As Cap walked by the river, she wondered if she would ever find a mate. She wondered if she did find a mate if he was going to protect her. If he was going to hunt for her when she is taking care of pups. Cap really wanted pups, she knew what name the first male would be, same with female. She wondered what they would look like. Capricious wondered these things everytime she closed her eyes when she fell asleep. 'What is the point of being alphess if there is no one in your pack.' Cap thought. She looked up at the moon shining brightly on the clear blue water. Capricious walked to the waters edge and bent her head down, looking at her reflection. She watched her blue eyes blink and just stare. Suddenly Cap had a tear run down her check. Cap let out a long and painfull howl. It drug on, letting the crisp air carry her cry on into the night. Cap's howl ended and she just stared at the moon and stars. She saw a gleming sooting star spread accros the sky, and she made a wish she would find a mate, and get her pack. Capricious walked back up to the tree line, and layed down there, closing her eyes, once again seeing her future pups.

As Cap fell asleep she dreamed that she was running accrose the meddow, playing with her little pups. ' Come Piro, join me and your pups. We were going to go down to the river to cool off.' Capricious said to her mate in her dream. Cap started to walk with her pups, to the rushing water. But as Cap walked to the water, and counted her pups, one was missing. Cap let out a howl of help. But she knew that she would have to find her pup herself. 'Please Chester, watch the pups, I have got to go find the little one.' Cap yelled back as she ran back to the medow. She kept running but she couldnt find her pup. Suddenly Capricious woke from her bad dream and panted. She took a deep sigh and then got up and started to walk back to the medow. " I need to get some good sleep." She said, looking at the big moon. Cap let out another big howl, this one a cry of sadness once again. Cap kept walking until she got to a big aspen tree, she smelled a rabit close by. Because she was hungry, Cap ran to the scent, and followed it. She stoped dead in her tracks when she saw a dead rabit, and the ghost of it rise into the air...

A loud crashing and rumbling reached Amaraque’s sensitive ears as he neared the K’Dunvar’s lands. Concerned and curious, he quickened his pace, going directly towards the sound. Bursting from the trees, he came to face a wide, angry river that reeked of danger. His nose probed the air, and he realized that this river was the divider between the K’Dunvar and the No-Mans lands. He inspected the river, looking for a calmer place to cross. He couldn’t just make a land bridge, there was too much water and the banks were too soggy to shape anything that would support his weight. Besides, this looked like it could be a challenge, and Amaraque loved challenges. Walking down the bank, he only came upon more violent waters. A deep, sad howl echoed from the air; the trees made it impossible to tell from where. Running back up the bank to where he started, Amaraque gained speed, and thrust himself into the treacherous waters before he could over-think the notion.
Amaraque felt as if he had run face-first into an icy wall, his breath knocked out of his lungs. Under the water, he pushed off the slick bottom of the river, shooting above the water like a bullet. Taking a deep breath, he dove back under the surface quickly, realizing that it was easier to swim under these waters than above. Opening his eyes, the opposite bank seemed to be miles away. Pushing the water out of his way was exhausting, but Amaraque persevered. His lungs were bursting for air again, and his vision blurred slightly. Rising to the surface and taking another breath, Amaraque saw the opposite bank was closer than he thought. He decided to stick out the last few strokes above the water, and climbed up onto the bank. Panting, he was very satisfied with himself as he shook the water from his coat. His large muscles were rippling from the intense workout. With a slight huff, he turned, and began towards the woods, but stopped dead in his tracks. A gorgeous blue female was watching him, only a few yards away. She was the Alphess of the K’Dunvar pack, he could tell by her smell. Lowering his tail respectfully, he approached her, ears slicked back, green eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Cap looked up and saw a very handsome and strong looking wolf come onto her pack land. She stood up, but before she could even move to him, he lifted his big paws up and walked to her. With tail down and ears back, he stoped right infront of her. " Hello stranger, what is it you are doing here? And what is your calling. If you do not know my calling, it is Capricious." She said, looking at him. Cap looked at the raging water, and took a small step to it. She use her power and saw a ton of fish spirits rising above. She looked up and her eyes watched the fish go ubove the clouds. ' How funny, this water is so peacfull if you can hear it, yet it is raging looking at it from here. I wonder why this brute is here.' Cap thought. She looked back at him, and saw his sparkaling green eyes. If there was a set of eyes that looked like sparkaling water, it would be his but green. " Where did you come from stranger?" Cap said looking into the males sparkaling green eyes. She didnt know what to do but she had a feeling about this one.

Amaraque, now entirely dry, looked the female over. She was obviously athletic, with a nice figure. Her markings were very unique, and there was something about her blue eyes that he just couldn’t describe. “Hello, stranger, what is it you are doing here? And what is your calling? If you do not know my calling, it is Capricious.” She said softly, looking at his eyes. Amaraque cleared his throat, and said in his deep voice, “Greetings, Alphess Capricious. I am Amaraque; I come from a foreign pack, seeking admittance into the K’Dunvar. My senses tell me my spiritual ancestors are here, and I knew I was meant to come.” His voice trailed off, and he averted his eyes from the attractive female. Capricious seemed to be distracted by something behind Amaraque, and he turned to look. He saw nothing. He huffed, and said, “Well, anyway, I ask for your acceptance, Alphess. It would be a great privilege to be a member of the K’Dunvar. I am a good hunter, I have brought down large prey on my own before. I am also a good fighter, which I would normally not include, but times are testy recently.” He stood still, awaiting judgment of the Alphess. [/color]

Cap looked back from the fish to the stranger called Amaraque. She heard what he said, about his ansestors being here, and him wanting to be in her pack. She needed someone in her pack that was strong and good at fighting. Also he had to have brains. Cap knew that there would probably be a war when everyone had more wolves in their pack. It was all because of her. She was blue in a brown pack. Two and mabey even three packs hated her. But it really wasnt her fault she was alphess. " Well Amara, if I may call you that, you can join my pack. I need someone on my side. There are rumors going around that there would be a war between all of the packs because I did not follow the laws of the land." Capricious said. She looked back at him and then started to talk to him again. "About your ansestors being here, they very well might be. You see I can see spirits. And I have been seeing some that do not belong here. They have never been on my pack land before. Now let us go back to the dens before it gets dark. There are some weired ghosts out at night." Cap said before turning around and started to walk to the dens.

Dusk began to settle over the land, a blanket of darkness draped over the treetops. “You can see spirits? Intriguing. I can control the ground beneath your feet.” Amaraque said, raising a brow. He was trying not to seem uneasy. Amaraque hadn’t even put it together that the blue female shouldn’t be in the K’Dunvar, but it was blaringly obvious now. He was slightly worried; three dangerous packs would be enemies. But this poor female didn’t seem to have much of a choice, she couldn’t just leave the land or the pack would die out; she had to stay. His decision made, Amaraque said gently, “Capricious, some wolves have to work their way into greatness. Others have greatness thrust upon them.” He smiled, and padded towards the caves without another word.
The shelters, it turned up, were up the mountain a ways. Amaraque was not used to climbing, and though he was physically able, it was awkward. Capricious soared up the mountainside without any difficulty at all. Amaraque smiled and thrust a column of rock beneath him upwards, slightly cheating and soaring past Capricious to the top. The caves were embedded in the mountainside, with a nice large shelf of rock beneath them. The sky was slightly clouded, but a few stars were visible. Amaraque gingerly nosed his way into the cave, his eyes adjusting quickly to the dark area. He found a comfortable, scentless spot and laid down, his head up, alert. He wasn’t ready to go to sleep yet, even though he was slightly drowsy after traveling non-stop all day, his rock ‘climb,’ and his swim in the river.

Cap climbed up the cliff side, only a few yards in front of the brute. She was almost up at the top, when she heard him use his power to shoot himself above her, and into the cave. 'cheater' Cap thought, looking up at the opaning into the dark cool cave. When Cap got up there, she saw that he had already made himself comfertable. It made Cap comfertable that there would be a male by her tonight. In the past weeks she has been worried that another wolf that hates her would come and kill her in her sleep. But now with someone by her, they would also have to bring two wolves. Not to mention climb this cliff. Cap got up and over the edge and looked at her new pack mate. " You are a cheater. Useing your power to shoot above me. But that was good thinking." Cap said humor in her voice. Cap walked over about a few feet away from the male, and layed down. She looked around, making sure no one had come here while she was gone. With nose in the air, she smelled notihng, just her own and the males own scent. ' Well that is good.' Cap thought.

The crunch of shifting rock filled the air, and woke Caster. Leaping to his feet, the K'dunvar captian peered over the lip of the small rock ledge jutting out above the caves. The scent of a strange male blew through the air, infiltrating Caster's senses. With his dark blue eyes spotting the source, riding atop a growing spire of earth, a creature who's fur was that of the earth it rode. It stopped level with the caves and jumped on to a rock, before laying down. The brown head stayed at attention, watching and waiting for danger.
Preparing to leap down and attack, Caster took another lungful of air. A new, but common scent, tickled his nose. It was that of the K'dunvar Alphess, Capricious. He could tell by the way Cap acted that this newcomer would not be any trouble, now. Caster sat on his ledge, watching the events unfold below. The male'sscent angered him and caused the muscles all over his body to tense. But soon the felling would pass , as it has done before. I should go down and indroduce myself, but I think i will stay up here a little longer. he thought to himslef. suddenly a new thought popped in to his head. With a swish of his tail, a marble-sized pebble fell toward the new male.

Cap looked up, remembering that Caster, the packs captain, was here. She looked up at where he usually layed, and where the rock fell from. She smiled at him, knowing that he would be looking. ' Im not going to say anything. I want to see Amara's reaction. I am curious to see what will happen.' Cap thought. She didnt know if he would make a good alpha or not. She needed to know before anything could happen. She knew what reaction would make a good alpha and what would not. Cap turned her head back, and looked out of the cave. It was dark and there were probably stars out, but she had to stay where she was. She would go out and do some thinking about the futer and what will become of her, and hopefully her full grown pack. Capricious layed her head down on the cave's floor. She would have to do some thinking here right now. She thought about if Amara DID become alpha, and he DID work his way up, if someone would challange him, and who that might be. She knew almost everyone hated her, and that would stop a lot of brutes from fighting Amara.
//OCC:: Acumen, yes you are not alpha yet, you and every male in my pack has to work their way up. That is how this will be fair. If you do not like it, simply leave the pack, but I do not want you to:://

Amaraque began to relax a little. Capricious had lain down in the cave as well, and was making herself comfortable. He allowed his ears to fall to a more comfortable position, as well as his arched neck. The sky outside of the cave was putting on a beautiful performance; the setting sun cast orange rays that broke through the clouds and scattered across the area. Amaraque was lowering his head to lie down and watch the peaceful scenery, and maybe contemplate the day’s events, when the winds changed course.
The scent of another male entered his nostrils, a burning scent that off all sorts of alarms in his mind. His head shot back up, his muscles tense. Capricious, Amaraque knew, was very worried about being attacked by another pack, and he felt it was his duty to protect her. Out of nowhere, a pebble fell between Amaraque’s paws. Amaraque stood up slowly, eyes half closed, ears forward. The male was very close. He crept out of the cave, and spotted the Male on a ledge overhanging the cave. With a sharp bark, Amaraque lifted the Earth between the male’s feet, sending him down to the ground before Amaraque’s paws. He leapt on him as soon as he fell, pinning him to the ground, his teeth inches from the black male's throat. In a voice that resembled a low growl, Amaraque said, “What pack are you from, and what is your business here?”
((OOC: Actually, I’m already set up to be Alpha, Cap; I PMed Bassie and she said that she would post it at the top of the webpage as soon as we role-played it out, because you said I would be Alpha, remember?))

Caster stared in to the eyes of the new male. "Silence, newcomer." Caster pulled shadows from the cave mouth, forming a muzzle around the beast. Lifting the Brown male of of him, with some more shadows, Caster stood up. He walked around the new male. "I could ask you the same questions. I am the captian of this pack and the protector until a alpha male is found." Caster told him. " Now If you want to cut the act and talk to me with a more plesant attiude, then come and get me. I will be on my ledge. This time walk up, with none of that Earth control tricks you use." he turned away from the newcomer. The muzzle disappeared as he walked up the steps to his favorate resting spot.
Caster could not fall back asleep due to the males scent still in his nose. This made his blood boil. A low growl rumbled in his throat. Somehow, he needed clear his head. Looking up to the sky, the clouds full of an upcoming rain, approached the westlands. He still had a few hours to enjoy the peace and dryness of the ledge before shelter was needed. Listening to the wind rustling leaves on the random trees grasping to the mountain side, this noise was only broken by the light footfalls on stone branching up to the ledge.

Capricious saw what had happened. She wanted to do something, but before she could Caster took the sitiuation and put it in his hands. Cap got up and followed Caster up onto his ledge. This was the best place to see the starts, so she would join him before the storm came. " Hey Caster, Im sorry about Amara. I saw him by the river, and he came up to me. He wanted to join the pack. He was strong, and you know how I have been stressing out about the packs hating me. I need some more males in the pack, or anyone. As long as they are strong." Cap knew that she did not have to explane anything to Caster, but she likes to have a close relationship with her pack mates. and Caster was her pack mate. " It is a beautiful night for star gazing. But that storm will be here in a few hours. i want you to actually sleep by me and Amara tonight. I have a bad feeling that comes with this storm. I dont want anyone to get hurt." Cap said to Caster, she hated to tell him what to do, but that came with the job...

The stranger conjured a mouth of shadows around Amaraque’s neck, and threw him off. He was slightly angered; he didn’t think that the stranger should have used his powers in the situation. Capricious talked to the black wolf, and Amaraque overheard his name, and that he was a part of the pack. Caster leapt up onto the same ledge he had been on previously. Amaraque, feeling rather stupid, lowered his head and said, “Please accept my sincerest apologies, Caster. Perhaps I acted too hastily. I am Amaraque, and I do not wish for conflict between the two of us. Capricious had expressed her worry of attacks from other packs, and I was afraid you were hostile. Forgive me.” Caster wasn’t looking at Amaraque, but he heard the apology. Without waiting for Caster’s reply, Amaraque trotted towards the edge of the cliff opposite to the way he had arrived, muttering something about needing some time alone.
Amaraque, instead of going down the cliff, shot himself upwards. The pillar of rock rose towards the darkening sky. From below, Amaraque looked like a black silhouette against the dark navy ceiling of the world. With a sigh that portrayed both worry and relief, he laid down on his newly formed plateau. The sky became entirely dark at this moment, without stars, sun or moon to alight its canvas. This was one of the rare moments, a moment often considered by Amaraque. A time in-between the day and night, before the stars rise and after the sun sets. The moment vanished as soon as it has come, with stars beginning to become visible above. Closing his eyes, Amaraque relished control to the tugging weariness in his mind.

Caster thought about the words asking for forgivness that came from Amaraque. He snorted as a signal of accpectance, for both Amaraque and Cap's request. He stood up and ventured down to the caves with out speaking a word to Cap. For the pack's sake, Caster would not cause any more trouble. After finding a nice warm corner in the cave and laying down, the wolf's mind turn to the looming threat of attack. This was a sign of the changing times. Unfortuney, a very bad sign. The question now was which pack would make the first move. For all that he knew, most of them still lacked a military force or captains. But this intel was old, but luck has turn its eye on them. A new source of intel had fallen in front of his nose.
Caster watched a little mouse scurry about the cave, only to be blocked by a barrier brought forth by the wolf. Taking a sniff of the air, the mouse's fear filled his noise. Finally letting the poor creature go, the Captian stood up and started to travel up to Amaraque perch. Caster need ot ask the brown wolf a few questions. See that his new pack mate was falling a sleep, so he sat there and watched.
