It is currently EARLY AUTUMN. The leaves on trees are turning dazzling colours of crimson and gold. The air is still warm, with a very slight tang to it. Nights and mornings are chilly, but days are warm, even hot. On some mornings, there is a slight fog. The sky feels further away. In the north and at the highest elevations throughout the lands, there is a distinct chill. Ice has begun to gather on the northern coast, and in the extreme north, daylight is short. Prey is still abundant, but some species are already preparing for winter by migrating.

northlands;; (5 sub-boards) Those with touches of silver and gold journeyed North and made these lands their own. They begin at the Highlands, and stretch as far as the northernmost coastline of Istlamyth, ringed in ice. Between these are the silent mirror-like lochs, ancient pine forests, and an ancient glacier. This region is colder, especially towards the coast, than its neighbors. Some say the stars shine more brightly here than anywhere else, save the stargazing point to the east. This is the North. These beautiful and awe-inspiring lands belong to the Lux'aramque pack.
eastlands;; (5 sub-boards) Those with green, blue, indigo and violet touches went East, followers of the only divine goddess. The beginning of their lands is marked, not with a formidable border, but with a thriving temperate forest. Security for these wolves comes, instead, from the famous sandstone bowl where they keep their dens - a veritable fortress and also a once-in-a-lifetime sight. The land then slowly changes to salt marsh and bayous, finally reaching the beautiful Eastern coast of Istlamyth. Within these lands one can also find other spectacular sandstone formations and the breathtaking stargazing point. These lands belong to the Ciell'eau pack.
westlands;; (5 sub-boards) Those with natural pelts of brown, black, grey and white set out for the West. The borders are created by a formidable mountain range. The rest of the lands can be most easily reached by passing through a single point - a pristine alpine pass. The other point through these mountains is a swift river, and few dare to take this road. Within these lands are cradled spectacular alpine meadows, filled with an abundance of life. The lands end at towering cliffs which fall away into the ocean. Welcome to the West. These are the lands of the K'dunvar pack.
southlands;; (5 sub-boards) Those with pelts bearing yellow, orange, or crimson chose first and reached their home last - the southern reaches of Istlamyth were to be theirs. The lands begin abruptly, with the stretching sands of a desert. It seems to stretch on forever, broken only by a ribbon of river, creating an effective natural border. The rest of the Southern Lands are rich and wonderful as the desert is harsh: the plains, a welcome respite for those who have just crossed the desert, are named for the sweet grasses that grow there. The river continues, too, calm and wide. The lands end in an archipelago that reaches out to the ocean, the jewel of the south. The beauty of the southern coast is rivaled only by a small section of dunes so vibrant in colour that many make the dangerous journey just to see the sun paint them. These lands are home the the Rajati pack.

"Mist and Shadow" ;; Lost Walkers
no man's lands;; (7 sub-boards) At the very heart of Istlamyth lie lands claimed by none. Once the thriving, vivid home of the single pack, they have since faded to a ghost of their former glory. A fog seems to hang here constantly, and there is little to be found here in the way of life. This is neutral ground. Battles for rank take place here, as do meetings between the four packs. The dead are also brought here to rest, though some would say they do anything but. When traveling here, one must use caution - although the packs agree that these lands are neutral, the banished wolves who also wander here have no laws. At the very center of the island, one can find the mysterious ruins - no one knows who built them or what happened to them. Some say this is the birthplace of the divine beings, others that they are the long ago home of strange, forgotten beasts who walked in a different manner than any other. Either way, these lands have a name amongst the packs; for the ghosts, the banished, and the forgotten - the Land of the Lost Walkers.
The Tomes;; Thread Archive Finished threads will be closed and moved here. If you'd like to read over the history of Istlamyth more in-depth, have a plunge in here.
